The roof of the Echo Lake Picnic shelter is severely deteriorated and needs your help! Join HistoriCorps in this beautiful location at the base of Mt. Evans, CO to learn how to shingle a roof with cedar shingles, preserving this historic building for future generations to enjoy!
Volunteers will learn how to:
- Repair deteriorated roof decking, as necessary
- Shingle a cedar roof
- Apply stain to exposed wood
When? Session 1: Sept. 7th-9th;
Session 2: Sept 14th-16th
Where? Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest, CO. Echo Lake campground is located at the base of Mt. Evans next to the entrance to the Mt. Evans road.
Camping, tools, safety equipment, and delicious meals will be provided by HistoriCorps but transportation is the responsibility of the participant.
