About the Position

As Executive Director you will be the Chief Executive Officer of NCSHPO.  You will provide the leadership, direction and overall management of NCSHPO and its resources. You will facilitate communication among the State Historic Preservation Officers and represent them in Washington, DC, with Congress, the Administration, federal agencies, and privatesector preservation organizations.  You will cultivate and maintain external relations including with NCSHPOs partners.

Experience and Education

B.A. degree. Ten years of progressively responsible growth in the areas of leadership and administration with a record of presentations at professional meetings.  A minimum of five years in senior management including oversight of programming, budgeting and staff required. Experience with the State Historic Preservation Office programs preferred and solid knowledge of the National Historic Preservation Act required.
