SEARCH is currently seeking an Architectural Historian to join our Newberry, Florida office to support several long-term general service contracts with the Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, and private clients. This is a full-time salaried position with a competitive compensation and benefit package.
Applicants should possess:
o MA in Historic Preservation or related field;
o 2 - 5 years experience as an Architectural Historian;
o Superior technical writing ability;
o Demonstrated contract and client management ability;
o Fluency in MS Office software suite;
o Sections 106 and 4(f) experience;
o Proven history of ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others;
o Strong field and outdoors skill set; ability to work in physically demanding environments;
o Ability to work well in a team environment;
o 2- 5 years of project experience, including background research, fieldwork, map production, report writing, and budget and schedule management;
o The requirements for Architectural Historian as specified in the Secretary of Interiors Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation.
o Ability to obtain government security clearance
o Ability to travel to other SEARCH locations, projects for extended periods of time
o Superior organizational and time management skills;
o Previous experience with Department of Defense and Department of Transportation projects preferred.
