Job Description
Position Summary: Provides leadership and direction on the design process and organization of project team activities. Experienced in conceptual and analytical thinking. Develops design solutions for a variety of infrastructure and facilities projects. May have direct responsibility for translating client requirements to design criteria from conceptual design through installation/production.
Responsibilities
Must demonstrate understanding of branded environments, the design process and lead and direct project team in development of design element components. Interpret and evaluate client requirements. Develop and coordinate detailed design concepts in conjunction with and in support of functional requirements and project design criteria. Anticipate and respond to technical implications of design decisions. Facilitate firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability. Must demonstrate an advanced understanding of branding concepts and the potential for their integration into three-dimensional applications in the built environment, Interior Architecture, Signage and Wayfinding. Must facilitate design and technical coordination among disciplines. Prepare reports and specifications; including review of reports, plans, cost estimates and calculations. Must participate in marketing efforts and may lead design presentations to clients. Direct, organize and mentor junior staff with responsibility for oversight of their activities. Responsible/accountable for assigned deliverables, deadlines and project/team participation. Responsible for timely communication on project activity to team members. Coordination with consultants.
Requirements
- Professional degree in related discipline.
- Experience: 8 - 10 years.
- Strong design portfolio.
- Advanced experience in all phases of Branded Environments design.
- Advanced experience in specifications, calculations and industry standards.
- Advanced sketching skills.
- Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator and other Adobe suite software; Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook; presentation software such as PowerPoint.
- CAD, 3D computer modeling and other graphic design modeling software.
- Ability to direct and coordinate work efforts of junior staff.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative and professional work ethic.
