Internship Opportunity to work with both the Historic Preservation Board, which exists to maintain the historic architectural integrity of the community, and the Landmark Societywhich provides education and outreach about and for the community at large.
Compensation: Position is paid for the duration of 8 weeks from June 24, 2013 to August 16, 2013 in the amount of $800. Hours are somewhat flexible and can vary from day to day depending on complexity and timing of the projects needing attention. Housing: Cottage owners have volunteered to offer room and board to the intern on a revolving basis.
+Attend Preservation/Architectural Review Board and Landmark Society meetings.
+Assist with inter-face between Board, contractors, cottage owners, the public at large, as needed.
+Accompany Board members on site visits, meetings with contractors and cottage owners.
+Research and archival responsibilities.
+Public education as it relates to preservation policy in TIPark.
+Assist Preservation office administrator with preservation-related duties in the Corporation and Landmark offices.
+Serve as docent one day a week in the Landmark building.
+Assist with summer programs and exhibitions.
+Grant writing with supervision.
+Pursuit of special projects which the intern might wish to develop.
