The Louis Berger Group, Inc., (LBG), solicits applications for the position of Assistant Architectural Historian for our Morristown, NJ office.
We seek highly motivated, talented applicants to pursue quality research in a cultural resource management context.
Responsibilities will include historical research, field survey, National Register evaluations, effects assessments pursuant to 36 CFR 800, HABS/HAER-level documentation, and report writing.
Requirements:
A Masters degree in Architectural History, History, Historic Preservation, or related field plus excellent research and writing skills is required. Candidates must have at least one year of professional experience in field survey and National Register evaluation of architectural resources, preferably in the context of Section 106 compliance.
The preferred candidate will have working familiarity with Federal laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines governing historic preservation and cultural resource management. The ability to communicate directly with a variety of clients in the public and private sector is necessary as is the ability to work both on his/her own initiative and as part of a team with other professionals within the company. Applicants must have demonstrated ability to meet budget and schedule requirements.
LBG offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful applicant will be based in the Morristown, NJ office and will be expected to travel for project assignments.
