The Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House in Havre de Grace, Maryland is offering a museum educator internship opportunity for the Summer of 2013. Duties include but are not limited to taking visitors on guided tours of the house, presenting specialized programs for groups such as scouts and school groups, and the opportunity to develop educational programs for presentation.
Requirements:
-Excellent public speaking skills
-The ability to communicate with a variety of age ranges
-Ability to think independently and adapt quickly
-The ability to work on weekends
-Knowledge of 19th century history preferred but not required
This opportunity is well suited for students studying history, anthropology, education, or other related fields; however, anyone with an interest in history and/or working with the public is highly encouraged to apply.
The internship is non-paid, but the Susquehanna Museum is willing to arrange credit with the students home institution.
