Executive Director is the professional staff that executes the porgrams of the organiation. Reports to a volunteer Board of Directors. Job Responsibilities include:
Communications and Outreach
· prepare newsletter, at a minimum, 3-4 times a year. Work with board to convert printed piece to constant contact on-line format for more frequent outreach. Notices include a calendar of events, annual listing of membership, training, member, and legislative updates.
· maintain updated list of membership and send notices as needed
· field questions from MAHDC membership
· oversee MAHDC web site. Coordinate, in cooperation with the board, new forms of social media, to include facebook and twitter. Web site management includes tracking HPC training material downloads.
· Coordinate, with assistance of the board, quarterly social hours.
· Coordinate, with assistance of the board, commission adoption program.
Board Support
· coordinate board meetings. This includes preparing the meeting agenda, distributing reminder notices, securing meeting space and recording minutes.
· participate in ongoing board member recruitment
· represent MAHDC on the Heritage Coordinating Council
Training Program
· In Fall 2013 MAHDC will host a day-long workshop for MAHDC membership. This workshop will be tailored to commission members and staff. The Director will be responsible for coordinating the event, which includes managing speakers and registration.
· The Director is also responsible for the continuation of the MAHDC training program. This includes seeking funding for the next phase of the statewide commission training initiative and working with our partner organizations and the training working group to assess next steps. Director must continue ongoing marketing and promotion of the training program.
· The director is responsible for scheduling CLG training sessions, which includes securing a certified instructor, ensuring the reproduction of training materials, and marketing the course.
CLG Coordination
· MAHDC is administering the FY12 CLG set-aside funds for MHT. The Director is responsible for working with the CLGs to report spending, receive timely reimbursements, approve spending authorizations, and prepare final report and documentation to MHT.
Anticipated Time Commitment: 10 hours per week; Annual Stipend: $10,000
