Located in Philadelphia, this is a fifteen year old company specializing in historic preservation and other issues associated with existing and aging, often historically designated, buildings, fabric, and structures. We are architects, structural engineers and historic preservation specialists. We are searching for a registered architect with a masters degree in architecture and a masters degree or Ph. D in preservation, preferably preservation related science or technology. The candidate must have an abiding passion for solving technical as well visual aspects of existing and aging buildings. The candidate must demonstrate advanced computer skills associated with the design and construction of buildings. Must be able within two years be able to essentially to operate a project including managerial functions more or less independently. Must be able to handle multiple projects and clients simultaneously. As a member of a tightly knit team, candidate must demonstrate the skills to cooperate with and fit in with current staff. Candidate must have a healthy respect for the trades and must not be afraid to climb into high and dirty places. Candidate must read and preferably, but not mandatorily, write articles. Candidate must be willing and able to travel.

Starting wages up to $60,000 per annum with paid company health plan (Aetna) and dental (Concordia). Comfortable newly renovated office in Art Museum area of Philadelphia proximate to affordable, comfortable housing and shopping.

Assistance will be provided for relocation based on distance and quality of the applicant.

Desired Skills & Experience

Advanced electronic drafting. Photography. Six or more years combine experience including IDP. Must hold an architecture license in any state transferrable to Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Bachelors degree in any field. Masters of Architecture from recognized program. Masters/Ph.D. in Historic Preservation or closely allied field.
