Job Description:    TRC Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRR), a pioneer in groundbreaking scientific and engineering developments since the 1960s, is a national engineering consulting and construction management firm that provides integrated services to the energy, environmental and infrastructure markets.  TRC serves a broad range of clients in government and industry, implementing complex projects from initial concept to delivery and operation. TRC has immediate openings for one or more full-time, benefited archaeological Project Managers within our expanding Eastern U.S. cultural resource program.
Position Overview: These individuals will be responsible for overall management and often direct supervision of all types of archaeological field projects, ranging from small local surveys through large, multi-year and multi-state energy projects. Responsibilities: Duties may include marketing; proposal development; client coordination; regulatory and tribal consultation; development and implementation of research designs, work plans, and schedules; and analysis and reporting. The Project Managers will work closely with other TRC archaeologists, environmental staff, permitting specialists, and managers within TRCs Planning, Permitting, and Licensing practice. We are looking for individuals with enthusiasm about their work, and a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. Successful candidates will enjoy the challenges of working alongside others in a fast-paced environment, and of helping to develop effective solutions to both expected and unexpected project challenges. At least one position will likely be based in TRCs existing Atlanta TRC office, with others potentially in other new and established TRC offices throughout the Eastern U.S. The positions will include extensive travel and often lengthy periods away from the home office. Requirements: Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Advanced degree in Anthropology or related field (must meet Secretary of the Interiors guidelines).
  • Three or more years of progressive experience supervising archaeological projects in the Eastern, Southeastern, or South-central U.S. Experience with large, multi-state linear energy projects is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent personnel and management skills and a track record of progressively higher level experience as an archaeologist
  • Experience with state and federal agency and tribal consultation, and excellent reputation within the professional and regulatory communities
  • Ability to work closely with engineers and other technical specialists as part of a larger project team.
  • Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, total station, etc) and GIS applications and software
  • A commitment to TRCs quality and safety goals
  • Successful technical report and proposal writing experience
  • RPA certification preferred but not required
