Public Programs Intern
Internship Opportunity

$2,200 stipend

Preservation Society of Charleston is seeking a paid Public Programs Intern who will work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks from Tuesday, September 3 through Friday, November 6, 2013.  The Public Programs Intern will report to the Director of Public Programs and provide support  for the Societys public programs, including the Fall Tours.  Duties will include assistance with logistics, data management and research for the Societys public programs.  The Public Programs Intern will also assist in other special events including lectures and architectural walks.

The Society is seeking a graduate or undergraduate student in historic preservation, history, arts management or a related field.  Candidates should have an appreciation for architectural history, have completed a research course, and should be able to submit a writing sample if requested.  Candidates should have strong research, writing, and organizational skills and the ability to manage both research and administrative tasks. Candidates will work in a professional environment and should be comfortable interacting with the public.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.  The internship stipend will be $2,200.
