Preservation Society of Charleston is seeking a paid Membership and Development Intern who will work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks from Tuesday, September 3 through Friday, November 6, 2013.  The Membership and Development Intern will report to the Executive Director and work with the staff and committees to support membership activities and meetings for the Society.   Duties will include coordination of membership databases, mailings, membership meetings and a variety of other similar tasks. 

 

The Society is seeking a graduate or undergraduate student in historic preservation, history, arts management or a related field.  Candidates should have strong research, writing, and organizational skills and the ability to manage both research and  administrative tasks. Candidates will work in a professional environment and should be comfortable interacting with the public.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.  The internship stipend will be $2,200.
