Position is responsible for working closely with Deputy Director/Chief Development Officer on all aspects of special events, marketing and office administration. Duties will include coordinating more than two dozen special events per year from walking tours to educational conferences to large fundraising events and providing administrative and office support for small non-profit organization serving New York City communities. Responsibilities include maintaining ongoing educational and fundraising programs as well as helping to develop, initiate and plan new programs. Position will also be responsible for publicizing and marketing efforts for all programs as well as assisting in larger HDC marketing efforts. One of the goals of the position is to help expand and develop audiences who care about or live in New York Citys more than 100 historic districts. As needed, staff member will assist with development activities including mailings and donor cultivation. 

Strong writing skills, organizational abilities, communication skills and interest in New York City history required. Background in non-profit administration and preservation encouraged. Web or graphic skills a plus. 


 Some evening hours. Must be New York City-area resident.
