This position is at the Underwater Archaeology Branch, Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC), Washington, DC. Responsible for managing and conducting archaeological research and survey on the Navys over 17000 sunken military craft. Conserves and curates artifacts associated with Navy sunken military craft and undertakes public outreach initiatives to inform the Navy and the public of their maritime heritage.   


As subject matter expert, manages the Archaeology and Conservation Laboratory.

Maintains and establishes policies and procedures for the safe and effective execution of laboratory activities including strategic planning and budgeting, staff, volunteer and intern oversight.

  As the senior conservator, sets, approves, and executes archaeological artifact conservation plans according to professional standards and methodologies.
