Historic Denver, Inc.
Discover Denver

As one of the nationís premier non-profit urban historic preservation organizations, Historic Denver, Inc. works to protect and promote Denver's historic places. Through grant funds and easement donations, Historic Denver has invested over $20 million dollars into our community and neighborhoods, heightening awareness of our architectural heritage and educating and empowering neighborhoods to positively affect quality changes in our developing city. Almost four decades into our journey, we continue to advocate for Denverís identity as a city that remembers and respects its past as it plans for the future. <br /> Discover Denver is a program of Historic Denver, in partnership with the City and County of Denver and with support from the Colorado State Historical Fund. Discover Denver is a building and neighborhood survey meant to identify historic culturally and architecturally significant structures citywide. Our mission is threefold: to identify the places that matter to Denver's history (Know It), to share the value of these historic properties in order to promote public pride and awareness (Love It), and to encourage neighborhood rehabilitation and reinvestment (One Building at a Time). Discover Denver currently has several exciting opportunities for current students or recent graduates who are looking to get involved with a major civic project. In addition to building resume experience through working with an established and effective nonprofit organization, each Associate Internship position will be able to take ownership of a vital part of the Discover Denver project. Whether it is leading field survey teams, developing essential historic research documents, taking charge of the projectís public image, crunching data, or building an app, an internship with Discover Denver will give you the opportunity to show future employers your professional abilities. These are unpaid internships, but as much as is possible the work done for Discover Denver will promote the applicantís long-term professional goals. Internships can be completed for academic credit but it is not required. Students and recent graduates seeking professional work experience with no academic credit may also apply. Discover Denver internships offer flexible hours to suit the applicantís needs. The duration of the internship is negotiable, but a minimum commitment of 100 work-hours is required.
