Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, an accredited museum and a National Historic Landmark, seeks a full-time Capital Projects Manager to oversee ongoing capital improvements at the estate’s main house, gardens and village complex. This position involves planning the balance of Vizcaya’s capital improvements, overseeing selection of architects and engineers, preparing construction contract documents, supervising bid process, and serving as client’s representative during construction. Approximately $20 million in capital project funding is currently available, with additional support to be raised.

Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Engineering, or a related field. Seven years of experience in the design, construction or management of construction projects are required.  A State of Florida Professional Engineer license, State of Florida Registered Architect license, Miami-Dade County or State of Florida General Contractor's certificate, Miami-Dade County or State of Florida General Building Contractor certificate, or Miami-Dade County or State of Florida General Engineering Contractor certificate, a Certificate of Eligibility in General Building or General Engineering may substitute for the required education



Experience in managing the restoration/renovation of historic properties and cultural facilities is highly preferred; demonstrated experience in delivering projects on budget and on schedule and in maintaining customer service and operations during construction is preferred; experience in a government context, a masters degree in appropriate area of specialization, fluency in Spanish and excellent written, verbal and analytical skills are desired.
