Architectural History

SEARCH is currently seeking an Architectural Historian to join our Newberry, Florida office to support several long-term general service contracts with the Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, and private clients. This is a full-time salaried position with a competitive compensation and benefit package. SEARCH provides our customers with a single source for integrated, multidisciplinary cultural resources consulting services in the areas of Archaeology, Maritime Archaeology, Architectural History, History, and Public Interpretation. Since 1993, SEARCH has completed over 2,000 projects across North America, Central America, West Indies, Oceana, Europe, Asia, and Africa. SEARCH’s staff of 75 work from 14 offices to service our various Government and Commercial contracts in the Defense, Transportation, Energy, Engineering, Forest/Land Conservation, Museum, and Development industries.

Architectural Historian

Newberry, FL

Applicants should possess:
 MA in Historic Preservation or related field;
 2 - 5 years experience as an Architectural Historian;
 Superior technical writing ability;
 Demonstrated contract and client management ability;
 Fluency in MS Office software suite;
 Sections 106 and 4(f) experience;
 Proven history of ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others;
 Strong field and outdoors skill set; ability to work in physically demanding environments;
 Ability to work well in a team environment;
 2- 5 years of project experience, including background research, fieldwork, map production, report writing, and budget and schedule management;
 The requirements for Architectural Historian as specified in the Secretary of Interiors Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation.
 Ability to obtain government security clearance
 Ability to travel to other SEARCH locations, projects for extended periods of time
 Superior organizational and time management skills;
 Previous experience with Department of Defense and Department of Transportation projects preferred.
