Louis Berger is seeking qualified applicants for Archaeological Field Technicians to participate in upcoming Phase I - III fieldwork in Connecticut, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia. Immediate placement will be for the Virginia and Iowa projects with fieldwork set to start the week of April 14th. Field crews are hired on a project basis; we anticipate keeping field crews busy into winter.

Minimum requirements are field school participation and a BA/BS in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field. The ability to travel, work in all types of climate and terrain, carry up to 40 lbs. of gear, stand and/or kneel for long periods of time are all necessary. Successful candidates will be team players who have attention to detail, self-motivation, a strong work ethic, and good communication skills. Specialized expertise is welcome.

Typical duties will include pedestrian survey and subsurface testing (shovel tests and test units), sample collection, screening matrix, artifact recovery, completing site paperwork and other field-related activities.

Field crew members are expected to work under the close supervision of a Crew Chief, Field Supervisor, or Principal Investigator.
