The Nevada State Historic Preservation Office (NvSHPO) has an immediate opening for an Architectural Historian to manage the National & State Register Programs.   From industrial mining towns to Mid-Century gems, Nevada has a breadth of cultural resources.   Nevada has a population of 2.79 million people and more than 85% of the state if federally owned and/or managed.  The position is located in Carson City which is nestled in the eastern Sierras and just 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe.

 

We seek a motivated program manager who is ready to expand and promote the Register throughout the state.  Experience writing and listing National Register nominations is required along with a graduate degree in architectural history, historic preservation, or a closely related field.  GIS experience is preferred but not mandatory.
