Echem Consultants LLC is a NYS Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), providing corrosion and material science consultancy throughout the United States. Echem Consultants partners with Axieom LLC, a corrosion engineering and diagnostics firm to provide world class expertise to our client base. We cater to architects, engineers, building owners and contractors with an intent to preserve the built environment and assist in creating better, more durable structures. Echem Consultants provides investigative and diagnostic services to better understand construction problems and failures. Our focus is on historic building materials; masonry clad steel frame buildings, masonry structures, historic reinforced concrete and atmospherically exposed metallic structures. Echem Consultants' approach to preserving built heritage is interdisciplinary. We rely on our experience in historic architecture, materials conservation, corrosion science and diagnostics to provide a unique approach to restoration and rehabilitation.

Echem Consultants LLC/Axieom LLC are seeking a talented and enthusiastic candidate, with a science or engineering background, to join our one-of-kind expert team.  This is a unique opportunity with an exciting and fast growing consultancy located in Poughkeepsie, NY.  Our work focuses on the diagnostics, evaluation and rehabilitation of historic masonry structures and reinforced concrete.


Our work is incredibly diverse, combining elements of civil/structural engineering, corrosion science, and architectural conservation. Projects range from inspecting routine parking structures to preserving historically significant buildings and national treasures. The nature of this discipline means we are looking for hard-working, self-starters with varied experience, eager to learn and contribute.

The successful candidate will work with our Principal and investigation team to conduct field investigations, condition surveys, repair and rehabilitation design work, and construction administration.  Opportunity for professional growth is limited only by your drive to succeed and ability to perform. 




Successful candidate will have a structural/civil engineering, material science, or architectural degree and either be a recent graduate or emerging professional.  Candidate be required to travel for work, work between multiple projects, provide excellent written and verbal communication.  Candidate must exhibit flexibility and a willingness to learn as well as a strong work ethic.
