We are a full-service historic preservation architecture firm serving New York State and beyond. We seek a highly-qualified historic preservation architect or intern architect to perform a full range of project tasks including project management, existing conditions documentation, project design, preparation of construction documents, bidding and construction administration services.
Responsibilities include all phases of project development and management including schematic design, construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, AIA documents, feasibility studies and proposals. Candidate will also be involved with construction administration and coordination with clients and consultants. Ideal candidate will have a strong interest and prior experience in historic preservation, revitalization and/or adaptive use architecture and working knowledge of the Secretary of the Interiors Standards. LEED accreditation and experience are a plus.
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a B. Arch, M.A. or M.S. degree in architecture, historic preservation and at least 3 years of work experience in heritage architecture. Individuals with less formal training, but who possess exceptional abilities, may be considered. Candidate must be a team player and be able to communicate well with clients, consultants and contractors both in writing and verbally. Strong project management skills and proficiency in construction document preparation are required. Experience and/or interest in historic preservation and small-office environment preferred. Personal character counts high for our collegial office and with our clients.
Architectural license or on the path to licensure preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and SketchUp is preferable. Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.
