Building Conservation Associates, Inc. (BCA) is a private consulting firm specializing in architectural materials conservation and historic preservation. BCA provides technical materials consulting and historic preservation planning services to architects, private institutions, developers, buildings owners, museums and government agencies. BCA is headquartered in New York City and has offices in New England (Newton Centre, Massachusetts) and Philadelphia. The position advertised is in the Philadelphia office.

The Architectural Conservator will be responsible for providing a full range of services related to the assessment and conservation of historic buildings. Services will include: historical research, field investigation, materials testing, report writing, preparation of construction documents drawings and specifications, and construction project monitoring. Interest in and experience with historic preservation planning projects (e.g. Historic Structure Reports and Preservation Plans) and familiarity with the National Register nomination process is also desirable. Willingness to travel is also essential.

Candidates applying for this position should have a graduate level degree in historic preservation with a concentration in architectural conservation, and a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
