The WA Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation functions as the State Historic Preservation Office for Washington State. We house all the programs under the National Historic Preservation Act as well as a human remains program and a local governments archaeological program. We are in the midst of developing an on-line historic inventory system as well as an e-106 system.

The successful candidate will have a Master of Arts or Master of Science in historic preservation or closely related field; strong background in computer technology and familiarity and competency with programs in the following software: Excel, Access, Illustrator, Word, Powerpoint, Word Press, Photoshop; experience managing computer databases; interacting with social media; experience working with local government and applying historic preservation principles, techniques, and tools.  Other key requirements include ability to communicate effectively and work professionally with colleagues and a wide range of clients. Customer-service orientation and good sense of humor is a plus.
