The Louis Berger Group, Inc., (Berger), solicits applications for the position of Architectural Historian in our office in Albany, New York.
M.A. in Architectural History or Historic Preservation plus excellent research and writing skills are required. Candidates must have at least three years professional experience in field survey and National Register evaluation of architectural resources preferably in the context of Section 106 compliance. A strong understanding of building fabric and the ability to read historic structures is crucial to this position. Materials testing experience a plus. Applicants are expected to have strong, clear and concise writing skills and be able to work efficiently in a professional and collegial team environment. The applicant must be flexible and feel at ease investigating out of the ordinary building types with experience in the interpretation and evaluation of engineering/industrial and military resources desirable. Applicants must have demonstrated ability to meet budget and schedule requirements. Prior experience with proposal writing and client interaction strongly desired.
