Texas-based environmental consulting firm seeks highly motivated, detail-focused historian/architectural historian to join growing professional staff.  Primary duties are to support Cultural Resources Division, environmental project managers, and firm principals with non-archeological historic buildings/structures background studies, fieldwork, and reports as needed for transportation, land development, energy, and water/wastewater infrastructure projects under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Antiquities Code of Texas, the Unified Development Code of San Antonio, and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and Texas Historical Commission (THC) guidelines.  All field procedures and work products must align with professional best practices, regulatory requirements, and employer and client quality control/quality assurance standards.  Required: must meet Secretary of the Interiors Professional Qualifications Standards for History or Architectural History, must have field and archival research skills, 5+ years previous experience in a consulting environment, an excellent work ethic, a record of successful teamwork and independent work, and valid drivers license.  Preferred: candidates based in Texas, previous experience with NRHP nominations, intensive-level work, Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS)/Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) documentation, leadership/personnel management, Section 4(f), larger projects (150+ resources), Federal Communications Commission (FCC) cellular tower coordination, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, Department of Defense (DOD) and/or other federal work.  Depending on experience, professional connections, and candidate preferences, duties may also include client relations, marketing, and proposal writing.  Part- or full-time terms are possible depending on candidate qualifications, interests, and availability.  Compensation will depend on experience.  Equal Opportunity Employer.
