ASM is seeking a temporary-to-hire Part Time Associate Architectural Historian for the companys Pasadena, California office. The selected candidate is required to meet the Secretary of the Interiors Professional Qualification Standards in Architectural History; MA in Historic Preservation (or concentration therein) or Architectural History is preferred. This is an entry-level position, a minimum of one years experience is required in which the candidate conducted archival research and building evaluations to develop historic contexts and site-specific building histories.  Experience conducting surveys  and preparing CA DPR forms is a plus. Some travel is required; reliable personal vehicle is required.  This position will begin as a temporary position, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position within six months to one year. .Compensation is commensurate with experience.

You will be expected to be a flexible, enthusiastic, proactive professional. As an Associate Architectural Historian, you will be expected to perform efficiently in a team environment as well as working independently in a fast-paced environment. You will also be expected to work with minimal supervision under the direction of the Senior Architectural Historian and to provide technical support to Project Managers. Project work may include the following: documentation and recordation of historic properties; architectural surveys; CRHR and NRHP evaluations; and effects determinations in compliance with CEQA and Section 106 of the NHPA.
