A county conservation district responsible for 3200 acres of land including both cultural and natural history sites. For more information see the district's website. Internship Location: Homestead Prairie Farm, a circa 1860 living history house museum, is located on the grounds of the Rock Springs Conservation Area (a 1300 acre riverine forest and prairie park) near the city of Decatur, Illinois. It is administered by the staff of the Macon County Conservation District with assistance from volunteers. Staff offices are in the nearby Rock Springs Nature Center.

$8.75/hour at 38 hours/week. Intern also

Terms of position:  One internship for 26 weeks from mid-May to mid-November. Work week is Monday through Friday with alternating weekend duty and compensatory time off.  988 total hours for the entire length of the internship based on a 38 hour work week.      

Duties include interpretation, youth programs, collections, exhibits, etc. To find out more information about the duties see the application link.
