Harboe Architects is a small award winning architecture firm specializing in the preservation of historic structures. We are located in downtown Chicago in the historic Marquette Building. Significant current projects include: Unity Temple 1908 (Oak Park, IL), Robie House 1910 (Chicago, IL), Taliesin West 1937-59 (Scottsdale, AZ) all by Frank Lloyd Wright; Home Federal Savings and Loan 1963 (now the Diocesan Pastoral Center in Des Moines, IA) by Mies van der Rohe, and Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team 1914-37 by Zachary T. and Charles Davis.

Description: Preservation Architect to assist with full range of project tasks including, historic research, on-site surveys and documentation, preparation of construction documents, construction administration, as well as the preparation of historic structure reports and national register nominations. We are looking for someone to join our team who is self-motivated, hardworking, and who shares our passion for cultural resources of all kinds.


Requirements: Professional degree in architecture and advanced education or training in historic preservation.  Candidates must have a minimum 5 years as a licensed architect specializing in historic preservation projects and be proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign and MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).  Candidates should be able to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrate the ability to manage project scope, schedule and costs and possess strong communication and writing skills.
