To act as the first point of contact for visitors to Woodlawn and Frank Lloyd Wrights Pope-Leighey House, provide quick and accurate point-of-sale transactions for tickets and shop sales, provide excellent customer service to visitors, and give guided tours of Woodlawn and the Pope-Leighey House as needed.

Schedule: The houses are open to the public Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, 11:30-4:30. Monday availability and flexibility to fill in as needed preferred. Some weekend/holiday shifts may be required.

Provide exceptional customer service and accurate site information to the public.
Demonstrate knowledge of the site offerings and programs.
Demonstrate an understanding of the store operations, policies and procedures.
Perform sales on point-of-sale system quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
Demonstrate product knowledge to assist customers in selections and promote sales.
Maintain an accurate account of daily ticket sales.
Assist in inventory control; help to maintain an orderly and attractive store and an organized stockroom by keeping merchandise filled and neatly displayed.
Lead exceptional tours of the site as needed to a diverse audience while meeting all interpretive objectives.
Employ active teaching techniques to respond to a diverse audience possessing a range of knowledge and learning styles.
Additional related duties as assigned.
Proficiency in all aspects of retail sales operations including customer relations, retail software (TAM), checking in merchandise, record-keeping, and reporting.
Previous retail experience.
Close attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability of succinct expression.
Must be a congenial team player and representative to the public.
Ability to work with all ages in a museum setting, experience desired.
Ability to stand for periods of up to 1 hour, multiple times per day.
Ability to speak at an acceptable volume for up to 5 tours per day.
Two years of college or equivalent experience in interpreting an historic site or public speaking, teaching, etc.
