The City of Frankfort seeks qualified applicants to join the Planning and Building Codes Department as a Staff Planner II. This is an exciting opportunity in the Capital City to perform short and long term public planning involving research, analysis and administration of planning, zoning, historic preservation and other development controls; position likely will serve as primary liaison between the public and the Architectural Review Board. Rate of pay is $36,700-$47,000 based upon experience (grade 78).
Requirements of Position:
Bachelors degree in Urban Planning or related field from an accredited college or university. Additional experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis.
Three or more years of experience in public planning. Graduate work in a related field may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software. Must possess and maintain a valid Commonweath of Kentucky drivers license. Preference given to individuals with Historic Preservation and/or GIS experience.
