CCI Energy and Construction Services, LLC, currently has an opening for an entry level Historic Architect position to assist the Historical Resources Team at Fort Bliss, Army Installation, Conservation Branch, in El Paso, Texas.† Historic Architecture position does not require licensure.
Candidate will provide historic compliance activities for over 700 historic buildings (age range of buildings is from 1890s to 1960s). The candidate will provide services to monitor approximately 1250 work orders and 41,000 service orders per year that includes providing guidance, and observing and monitoring construction activities that have the potential to affect Fort Bliss historic properties.
Tasks require the ability to apply the Secretary of Interior Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and evaluate building improvements.† Candidates shall be familiar with historic materials, methods, and construction, and their repair, restoration, and preservation. This position is primarily a field position with some related office activities.† Candidates will be required occasionally to assist the Historical Resources Team with report and letter writing, data entry, and other requirements related to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1996, as amended.
Staff level Historical Architects will have an undergraduate or graduate degree in history, architectural history, architecture, or a degree in a related field.† A certificate in historic preservation will be considered in lieu of the degrees identified above. Experience may be substituted in part for education; specifically four years of field experience under the supervision of a professional who meets the requirements for PI-AH (Principal Investigator - Architectural History) or PI HA (Principal Investigator - Historical Architect) may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Not less than two years experience field work preferably with historic properties and/or construction.†
