New Castle Historical Society and Horace Greeley House

The New Castle Historical Society, located in the historic Horace Greeley House in Chappaqua, New York, is seeking applications for their Internship Program. Interns will have the opportunity to complete projects in a variety of museum, education, preservation, and public history related departments. The New Castle Historical Society is an enthusiastic and energetic organization - one that is constantly striving to reach audiences in new and creative ways. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to create original work and to see it used by the public and researchers daily. All of our interns will gain the experience of working in a historical society, a house museum, and a non-profit organization.

We are seeking an Archival Intern to assist with the process of reconciling our archive, collections, and records database.

The intern will have the opportunity to work directly in the archive with our part-time archivist and Collections Committee. The intern will also learn how to use Past Perfect Software. This internship will be highly regarded, for a collection is only as strong as it is accessible.  The intern will play a key role in increasing the accessibility and functionality of our collection and archive to the public, researchers, and staff.
