California Citrus State Historic Park

California Citrus State Historic Park preserves some of the rapidly vanishing cultural landscape of the citrus industry and tells the story of this industry's role in the history and development of California. The park recaptures the time when "Citrus was King" in California, recognizing the importance of the citrus industry in southern California.

The primary focus of the Volunteer in Parks Program is to help provide services to visitors, interpret the cultural and natural history of the park and citrus industry, conduct public interpretive tours and lead hands-on learning for school aged children, and assist park staff in maintenance of the parks varietal citrus groves.  Docents lead tours through the parks varietal groves to interpret and promote the natural and cultural history of the citrus industry and California Citrus State Historic Park, while offering visitors a sample of the fruit in order to give them a taste of why citrus is so special.  Volunteers may also assist in staffing the information counter at the Visitor Center and Museum, as well as the gift shop.
