Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area

Designated by Congress in March 2009, Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area is one of only 49 National Heritage Areas in the United States, and it works to preserve, interpret and promote the rich history and heritage of the hills region. The heritage area covers 19 full counties in northeast Mississippi as well as portions of 11 additional counties. Its boundaries are Interstate 55, Highway 14 and the Tennessee and Alabama state lines.
