The Fairfax County Park Authority is the steward of cultural resources in Fairfax County. The Cultural Resource Branch is housed in the Resource Management Division and responsible for historic preservation, archaeology and museum collections.

Architectural Historian Project Manager (Limited Term)

Fairfax County Park Authority is seeking an Architectural Historian/Project Manager for a limited term position to conduct  architectural surveys; evaluation, preparation and nominations of county-owned properties to the National Register of Historic Places; preparation of nominations to the Fairfax County Inventory of Historic Sites; development of Scopes of Work for contracted Historic Structures Reports; oversight of consultants conducting Historic Structures Reports, Historic Structures Assessments and Treatment Plans; and other related duties. 
Five years professional experience in architectural history and/or historic preservation projects is requested.  A knowledge of building fabric and experience with project oversight is a plus.  A Bachelor's Degree in Historic Preservation or a closely related field is required.  A Master's Degree is preferred.

Limited Term status limits employees to 1,560 work hours per calendar year.
