Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION:  

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in planning, architecture, engineering, social science or public administration field. 
LICENSE(S) and/or CERTIFICATION(S):  
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record. 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY(IES): 
  • Effective oral/written communication skills.
  • MS Office or similar software skills. 
 
City Design Studio, strong Design Portfolio Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and ArcView is a plus.

Current Planning, American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification and experience in GIS, urban design and public involvement are a plus.

Historic Preservation, provide customer service regarding historic preservation by meeting with citizens, other City staff, neighborhood groups as well as walk-in and phone customers, process routine Certificates of Appropriateness for historic districts, compile and analyze data to formulate recommendation, identify issues related to historic preservation and help address needs, identify other issues and help create training module(s) for staff, Task Forces, and Landmark Commission.
