Boyne City Main Street is a master level Main STreet Program. We are a DDA governed by a nine member board appointed by the City Commission. Boyne City is located in northwest lower Michigan and situated on beautiful Lake Charlevoix which flows into Lake Michigan. We have been a Main Street program for 13 years and have been instrumental is assisting more than a dozen property owners with facade renovations, done major infrastructure projects in our downtown including new streets, sidewalks, and lighting, organized clean up events and created vibrancy to our community.

Job Summary: Execute the organizations mission by assisting with regular activities of the Main Street Program.  Duties may include:

  • Increase awareness and knowledge of local historic preservation programs and initiatives
  • Assist with projects such as The Walkabout Sculpture Show, The Last River Draw, Historic Signage, Architectural Treasure Hunt, Summer Arts Festival, and other events and initiatives as needed
  • Assist with Main Streets digital and print communications; including fliers, correspondence, social media, and website.
  • Perform database management for donors, volunteers, and business/property directories.
  • Coordinate mailings, reports, event invitations, and other communications.
  • Research and prepare materials to support promotion, events, fundraising, and other program activities.
  • Organize and execute special event materials and registrations. Track and organize volunteers; coordinate post-event follow-up.
  • Attend meetings and provide liaison support for our design, promotion and marketing committees
  • Take part in community events with local businesses and organizations
  • Promote the communitys desire to support the organizations mission
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications:

  • Be responsible, hard-working, ethical and committed to the mission
  • Be able to work independently
  • Possess a high level of organizational skills and be detailed oriented
  • Possess solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Be skilled at a variety of computer programs, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs
