Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) is seeking to fill an Architectural Historian position in our Nashville, TN office.


ECA provides environmental, biological, cultural resources, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) services throughout the Southeast and nationwide. This position will require the preparation of Phase I ESA, Section 106, NEPA documents, National Register nominations, and historic architectural survey reports; conducting field visits both locally and out of town, occasionally in harsh conditions; communicating directly with clients; consulting with federal, state, and tribal agencies; meeting tight deadlines; producing consistent and accurate reports; management of project timelines, budgets, and administrative tasks; and extreme attention to detail. 


To be considered, candidates must meet the following requirements:




  • Masters Degree in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, or closely related field

  • Excellent research and writing skills.

  • Hard working and willing to work extra hours when necessary

  • High attention to detail in both technical and administrative tasks

  • Outstanding technical writing, computer, data management, communication, and team skills

  • Familiarity with the National Register of Historic Preservation criteria and qualities of integrity

  • Previous professional employment is preferred
