Employer
Historic Westville
Interpretation

Historic Westville is an outdoor museum currently located in Lumpkin, Georgia. The museum is comprised of 30 historic buildings and structures, the majority of which were built in the early 1800s. Previously, HW used these buildings, structures, and collections items to interpret the 19th century South, specifically southern Georgia and Alabama, through school programs, special events, and guided tours. The museum closed its doors to the public on December 26, 2015 to relocate operations to the closest city, Columbus. This will include the physical relocation of the buildings, as well as an overhaul and redesign of the interpretive programming. During the move, the museum will remain visible in the community by partnering with other cultural institutions and offering educational outreach programs to area schools.
