Quality Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced cultural resource management specialist for the position of Principal Investigator. The Archeology PI will perform environmental reviews of cultural resources for project planning, perform records searches for previously recorded archeological sites and inventories, and research reported cultural resources and tribal associations. The position includes conducting surveys and recording cultural resources, excavating archeological sites and area with potential for buried archeological resources, analyzing artifacts, and writing and reviewing reports.
Applicants may be required to walk up to 10 hours per day in rough terrain, carry up to 40 lbs., and oftentimes deal with variable and inclement weather conditions, be able to sit, stoop, bend, and climb, and to use hand tools, shovels and screening and other field equipment.
Masters degree in archeology, anthropology, or a closely related field
A minimum of 3 years experience
Basic knowledge of soils and sediment
Meets Secretary of the Interiors Professional Qualification Standards
Editing and review experience
Experience with human remains/burials
Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
Self-motivated, positive, energetic, and the ability to work and participate as a team
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
