Crystal Cove Alliance (CCA) seeks a proven executive to design/deliver coastal-oriented education, conservation, recreation experiences, complete in-process capital improvements to preserve historic cottages, and manage a financially sustainable nonprofit public private partnership. The position is located on the beach, in Newport Beach, CA. CCA protects, restores and preserves the Crystal Cove State Park Historic District, and provides educational and interpretive activities in the District, on its beach, and throughout the marine life refuge. Centered in Crystal Cove State Park and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Historic District encompasses 12.3 acres that include 46 historic cottages built over two decades starting in the 1920s (29 have been fully restored), to capture the soCal coastal lifestyle circa 1940. The State Park includes almost 4,000 acres of chaparral canyons, undeveloped woodland bluffs, a 1,400 acre marine conservation area located on either side of a 3 mile stretch of beaches and tidepools. CCA is a public-private partnership with CA State Parks, with a $5.2m budget and 10 staff.


Reporting to the Board, the CEO will guide and direct a living history educational venue that delivers curated educational and entertainment programming. Emphasis will be placed on developing funding and other forms of support for CCA, its facilities and programs.
