SEASONAL Position and VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

 

Job Title:            Historic Site Caretaker VI

                             

Site Hours:        Open Wednesday - Sunday and Monday holidays

Late May Mid-October; 11:00 AM 5:00 PM

 

The Senator Justin S. Morrill State Historic Site in Strafford, Vermont, is owned and operated by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation (VDHP). Seasonal Site Caretakers are responsible for opening and closing the site, greeting visitors, and leading guided tours of Senator Morrills home and gardens. Other duties include tracking attendance, maintaining admission income records, and light housekeeping. Applicants should have an interest in Vermont history. Docent training and materials related to the life and works of Senator Morrill, his Gothic Revival-style home and landscaped late-19th-century gardens, and the other State-owned Historic Sites will be provided by VDHP.  

 

Paid caretaker positions as well as volunteer opportunities available.

 

Applicants must be available to work on weekends and to begin immediately. Special events are held throughout the season on weekends.
