Historic New England is a museum of cultural history that collects and preserves buildings, landscapes, and objects dating from the seventeenth century to the present and uses them to keep history alive and to help people develop a deeper understanding and enjoyment of new England life and appreciation for its preservation.

The Preservation Services Manager, Northern New England, represents Historic New England in northern New England, with a focus on the work of managing the organization's preservation easements in Maine, New Hampshire, and parts of Massachusetts. This position serves as the institutional expert regarding the history, legal background, and maintenance chronology of assigned properties enrolled within Historic New Englands easement program and monitors these properties to ensure ongoing compliance with preservation and conservation restrictions. This position responds to public inquiries about preservation easements, cultivates prospective easement properties, and makes internal and public presentations about preservation easements with the goal of growing this program. This position is also responsible for fostering positive relationships with external preservation partners and for serving as local resource for preservation issues within the assigned region of responsibility.

Qualifications:†Requires a bachelors degree in Historic Preservation, Art History, of Architectural History with at least two (2) years of job-related experience. A Masters degree in those fields listed above is preferred. Fully-competent computer skills including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, internet research, and email is required. GIS and CAD experience is preferred. Basic Digital photography skills are required. This position requires regular travel to locations throughout New England. A valid drivers license, a means of transportation, and ability to drive are requirements of the position.
