Architectural Conservator

Arlington, VA

John Milner Associates Preservation has an immediate opening for an Architectural Conservator to work in our Arlington, VA office.

Ideal candidates for the position must have a Masters of Science in Historic Preservation with a conservation concentration or a Masters of Architecture with a certificate in conservation.  Responsibilities include field investigation, materials testing, materials treatment, report writing, construction documents, and construction administration.   Candidates must be able to demonstrate skills in historic research, AutoCAD.  Full-time professional experience, particularly construction administration and specification writing skills, will be considered an advantage over other candidates.  Preference will be given to those individuals with strong communication skills.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Senior Materials Conservator in JMA Preservations Arlington, Virginia, office, but will also be involved in multidisciplinary projects with our preservation architects.  Project work often entails travel throughout the United States.
