Quality Assurance Engineer

Position Overview:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will own the verification and validation processes for the REsurety software suite to ensure unwavering accuracy of results.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Test new software features for quality and accuracy before they enter production, identify root causes of issues, and stress-test for unusual conditions
  • Validate input and output datasets across the spectrum of power, weather, and risk metrics
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor automated unit tests, regression tests, evaluation metrics, and holistic verification frameworks; take action when issues arise
  • Investigate live quality issues in active customer quoting and settlement operations
  • Advocate for quality needs throughout the software lifecycle, including requirements gathering and development


Required Qualifications:

Applicant must satisfy the requirements for Profile 1, Profile 2, or (ideally) both

  • Profile 1: Quality Engineer
    • Degree in computer science or software engineering
    • Professional experience with software quality processes such as automated testing
  • Profile 2: Wind Expert
    • Degree in physical sciences, applied math, energy engineering, or other wind power field
    • Professional experience with wind, renewable energy, and/or power markets
  • Programming experience with R (preferred), MATLAB, Python, or similar languages
  • Attention to detail and a devious mind capable of surfacing deep bugs
  • A passion for REsuretys mission: More Profitable Clean Energy


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the R testthat unit testing package
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Familiarity with agile software development, source control, and bug tracking
