The incumbent in this position will be responsible for the efficient management, achieved through effective record keeping and communication, of the on-reservation and off-reservation review responsibilities undertaken by the Seminole Tribe of Floridas Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO). The incumbent will assist in the preparation of THPO reviews of agency projects on ancestral, aboriginal, and ceded Seminole lands, as well as reviews of Tribal Archaeology Section projects occurring on STOF reservation lands, as described in Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and the STOF Cultural Resources Ordinance. Assists in maintaining the THPO documents database and other files and performs other office work related to the THPO program.   Bachelors degree in Anthropology, History or related field is required.  A solid understanding of all federal and state laws pertaining to historic preservation is required. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the cultural resource management field with an emphasis on the Section 106 process is required. A minimum of two (2) years of compliance technical-report writing experience is required. Understanding of basic historic preservation law especially Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) is required. Prior experience working in or with Native American government is preferred.  The incumbent must possess a valid Florida drivers license. Proficiency with Microsoft software packages (especially Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Explorer, and Power Point) and a willingness to learn GIS and document management software is required. Demonstrated experience in the preparation of archaeological or CRM reports, including background research, artifact analysis, synthesis of findings, and report production is required. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate excellent office and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
