Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach

The Preservation Foundation is a private, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to the preservation of the historic, architectural, and cultural heritage of Palm Beach, Florida. Through advocacy initiatives, educational programs, architectural resources, and cultural events, the Foundationís goal is to encourage the community to learn about and save the historic buildings that truly make Palm Beach special.

$1000 Stipend

The Anthony K. Baker Internship program is named in honor of the late Anthony K. Baker, a dedicated advocate of historic preservation, history and architecture throughout the United States. The Foundation is looking for graduate and undergraduate students studying architectural design and/or historic preservation to participate in a six-week program this summer. Interning students will be exposed to challenging, professional opportunities while working in the offices of leading architectural, interior, and landscape design firms, assisting with documentation of historic properties, and participating in urban planning and design, as well as a variety of other related projects. A $1000 stipend will be included with the internship and housing provided.

Program Requirements and Expectations:

  • Graduate / Undergraduate status
  • Major with an intent to pursue a career in architecture or historic preservation
  • Grade point average greater than 3.0 (with flexibility)
  • Commitment to the program beginning on June 12 through July 21, 2017
  • Stipend of $1000, housing provided
