John G. Waite Associates, Architects is seeking an architectural specifications writer with an interest in historic preservation to fill a position in the firms Albany, New York office.† Candidate must be dedicated and demonstrate resourcefulness, possess strong leadership and communication skills and have the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Prepares project manuals as an integral member of the project team, coordinates and collects specifications prepared by consultants, leads project team members in product research and selection, responds to or relays project specific technical questions and construction administration issues, provides consultation for material and product selections, stays abreast of product developments, new materials, code changes, and current industry trends, promotes design and delivery process, actively participates in a professional organization.

Candidate must possess:

Bachelor of Architecture (5 year degree) and/or Master of Architecture degree is required.† Specification writing experience is preferred, but not mandatory.† A demonstrated knowledge of building materials and traditional construction is necessary.
