Nzilani is looking to hire two skilled glaziers for full-time term positions to both install and remove large stained glass windows on site. The work is very physical, with long periods of lifting, bending, squatting, sitting and requires repetitive use of your shoulders, arms and wrists. Additionally, the artwork must be treated delicately and professionally. The job will be onsite in San Francisco; hours are limited to 6 on-site as the work is labor intensive. Successful candidates must attend a three-day certification course in lead-related construction, prior to window removal in June. Both course fees and attendance time will be paid by Nzilani; there is an initial $75 fee for this certification which will be refunded to you should you become a permanent employee.

Salary: $24-31 commensurate upon experience.


There is potential for continuation of work in the studio, immediately after completion of the site work. This job provides the opportunity to learn extensive knowledge of stained glass conservation and to contribute to efficiencies within the company.


Required Skills

Be on time. Able to arrive promptly by 8am M-F at the Oakland studio.

Able to safely lift 40lbs, multiple times per day

Able to ascend & descend scaffolding multiple times per day, at various heights, both on interior & exterior of building

Applicant will be required to wear proper PPE, which includes a full-face or half-face respirator

Proficient with hand & power tools

Dependable, Self-Directed, Detail Oriented

Excellent interpersonal skills - Team Player

Enthusiasm for performing any task, large or small

Discretion & sensitivity when working on location at historic, religious or residential locations

Ability & confidence to safely handle museum quality artwork

Maintain a clean & tidy work area

Respect & Adherence to all Health & Safety Protocols

Clean Driving Record

Excellent references


Preferred Additional Skills:

Possession of a California Glazing Contractors License

Experience with working on scaffolding, and familiarity with PPE's

Knowledge of frame building (wooden, stone or cement) 

Basic carpentry skills are a plus
