Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists planning staff in the Charlotte Historic Districts Program with research and field surveys within our 6 local historic districts. The goal is the creation of a data table with site specific criteria for historically significant properties. May also be involved in supporting project planning associated with planning studies and reports, including area studies, corridor plans, redevelopment plans and streetscape design as part of the Planning team.


Minimum Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in a graduate program and a student in good academic standing. Preference for students enrolled in a program leading to a degree in Architecture, Historic Preservation, Urban Design or Urban Planning. No previous office experience required. Experience working collaboratively in a project team environment with planning scale and site plan scale projects is highly desired. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have expert knowledge of GIS/ArcView and Office Suite software. Experience with design software such as Google SketchUp Pro, Adobe Creative Suite software, AutoCAD or other design software is desirable.
